Privacy Policy

When you contact a club or book a trial class through our form, we collect your email address. The form only submits after you actively tick the consent checkbox.

When you take the quiz, we store your quiz result (your answers and recommended martial art) under a randomly generated link so you can share and revisit it. The result itself contains no name or email; if you afterwards contact a club through the form, your result can, however, be linked to the email you provide. See the Data Retention section for how long we keep the result.

When you search for a city on the map, your search text is sent to our map provider (Mapbox) to find the location. We do not store your precise location.

If you have accepted analytics cookies, we collect usage statistics (e.g. which pages are visited and where in the quiz users drop off).

Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): your email is processed only after you tick the consent checkbox in the contact form, and analytics data is collected only after acceptance in the cookie banner.

Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): baseline security measures such as rate limiting and abuse protection, necessary to run the service safely.

We use two cookie categories: necessary (they make the site work and remember the choices you have made yourself, such as a light or dark theme in the club portal) and analytics (statistics via PostHog, only set if you opt in).

Your choice is stored in the cc_cookie cookie. You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by reopening the cookie settings from the banner.

If you choose a light or dark theme in the club portal, we store your choice in the mam_theme cookie for up to 90 days. It is set only when you pick a theme yourself, and you remove it again by choosing Follow system.

Cloudflare — hosting and CDN (our app and API run on Cloudflare infrastructure).

Scaleway — database, hosted in the EU (Amsterdam). The connection between our app and the database runs through Cloudflare Hyperdrive.

Mapbox — geocoding of your city search (the search text is sent to Mapbox servers).

PostHog — analytics, EU-hosted (eu.i.posthog.com), only after consent.

Google — static map links: if you click a link to Google Maps, Google's own terms apply from that point.

Resend — transactional email provider (used when we send you email, e.g. confirmations).

Some of our providers (Cloudflare, Mapbox, Google) are US companies. Transfers to the US rely on EU-approved transfer mechanisms — the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — as part of our data-processing agreements with these providers.

Emails from contact/trial-class forms are retained for 2 years (730 days) from submission, then automatically deleted by our nightly purge job.

Usage statistics in our own system are retained for 12 months (365 days), then automatically deleted by our nightly purge job.

The same usage statistics held by our analytics provider PostHog are retained for up to 1 year.

Quiz results are retained for 2 years (730 days) from creation. Your shareable result link works during that period. After that, the result is automatically deleted by our nightly purge job. You can always have your result deleted earlier by writing to kontakt@martialartsmatch.com.

Club profile drafts that are never published are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Club accounts still unverified after 72 hours are automatically deleted by our nightly purge job. A verified club account is retained for as long as the account is active.

Under GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), and data portability (Art. 20).

Write to kontakt@martialartsmatch.com to exercise your rights. We respond within 30 days at the latest (GDPR Art. 12).

If you are unhappy with how we process your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) — see www.datatilsynet.dk.
